A Foreword from the CEO

At Ignite Dreamz, we believe that every child, regardless of their circumstances, deserves the chance to dream, achieve, and thrive. As a certified NPO in collaboration with The Sharks Rugby Union, we harness the power of sport—particularly rugby—to inspire and uplift youth from under-resourced communities across KwaZulu-Natal.

Our programmes have reached thousands of children in eight communities, providing structured coaching, mentorship, and life skills development. Led by a former Junior SA Springbok player and supported by over 30 trained coaches and dedicated local sports science students, we go beyond teaching sport. For children who arrive hungry, walk long distances to training, or face the daily challenges of poverty, rugby becomes a source of hope and a gateway to opportunity. Through school bursaries, mentorship, and community initiatives, we guide these young people toward education, personal growth, and the confidence to envision a brighter future. Every practice, every match, and every conversation is a step toward strengthening the community, nurturing potential, and breaking cycles of disadvantage.

As CEO, I am proud of the impact we have made, but there is still much work to do. Ignite Dreamz exists because of the belief that with guidance, opportunity, and support, every child can rise above their circumstances.
